Neva studies traditional methods of oil painting and drawing. But she’s neither a reactionary nor a conservationist. Her artwork exists within the context of time, recognizing the extraordinary emotional environment we live in today while collapsing the centuries to engage in dialogue — dialogue with the past, with ideas, with the materials in which it is rendered and with the artists, teachers, and students who share and influence her, as she too influences them.
